Experience
A distinguished legal career spanning four decades.
Current Circuit Court judge for the Sixth Judicial Circuit, presiding over domestic relations and juvenile court matters
Municipal judge in the towns of Woodstock, Vance, Brookwood, and Coaling, handling criminal misdemeanors and traffic violations
Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court judge from 1999 to 2001, presiding over civil and criminal jury and non-jury trials
Special Circuit Court Judge for Tuscaloosa County Drug Court from 2009-2015
About Judge Steverson
Judge Steverson’s dedication to public service has been widely recognized in our community.
In 2019, he was inducted into the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce Civic Hall of Fame, an honor recognizing his substantial impact on Tuscaloosa County, and in 2011, he was named a Pillar of West Alabama.
He has served as a board member and/or chairman for many organizations, including Easter Seals, the United Way of West Alabama (UWWA), American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America, Hospice of West Alabama, the YMCA, and Turning Point. He has served as an Elder for the Woodland Park Church of Christ for over 30 years.



Judge Steverson graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1982. He holds a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in chemistry from Stillman College.
